One of my regular stops in Cambria CA. I raid the day olds every time I can. Good please to get sweet pastries, breads, sandwiches and coffee. No dogs allowed inside. Very friendly staff. For $19 I got a sandwich, 2 cibatti rolls, 2 bagels, a large loaf of rye bread, and 2 sweet pastries. Great quality goods! I love the Parisian style chairs and tables. Unless it's crowded, because this place is quite popular, this small shop usually has a quiet and comfy atmosphere.
Pay for a fancy French bakery but get cheap donut store pastries served cold.
Good sandwich and cake!
Best pastries ever! Wonderful selection.
Decent ‘Philly sub’ sandwich from the bakery today, but it was more of an italian or muffuletta sandwich so perhaps misnamed. Lots of nice looking pastries and cakes, etc. May need to make a little pit stop tomorrow morning.
Only an American would call this “french”. The coffee was really bad and the chocolate croissant had cheap quality chocolate and bread-tasting pastry.
This is one of the best bakeries I've ever been to. They have decent sweets choice and few different sandwiches. Also they have different bread to sell. The place is very nice, they have a picture of Paris on the wall, and cute furniture.Service is just great: one customer asked if there are bagels but they appeared to run out of bagels; so later on they came and asked if he will be ok with a little toasted bun with cream cheese, free of charge. And they had one more happy customer! The seating space is limited and parking is not big.
We stopped here on a Friday morning during COVID because all the other coffee shops had long lines. Boy was that a gem of a find. Mocha was the best ever. They even had almond milk and whipped cream. In addition the croissants and pastries were way beyond great. Fresh and light and yummy. Skip the coffee shops and find this French bakery.
Loved it! Great place to stop at. Very welcoming! Staff make you feel at home. Pastries are delicious and drinks are a perfect sweet.
Stopped in here for an early afternoon coffee and was pleasantly surprised by their sandwich options. I ordered an espresso and a pork torta. The espresso was made right there in front of me and was great to sip on while I waited for the torta to be made. The espresso was good, nice and smooth and not bitter. The highlight of this trip for me however was the torta. First off, ordering a torta from a place that sounds like a French Bakery doesn't sound like a good idea. Thankfully, it was a good choice. This being from a bakery the bread was exceptional, much better than any torta I've had in the county before. Overall the torta was very good, well seasoned meat, delicious fresh vegetables and avocado, and the pickled jalapeno. I will definitely order this again as well as check out their other food options as I was quite pleasantly surprised by this small bakery on the corner.
In my opinion this place has the best espresso in town. Who cares what language the staff speaks, Tee Jay. They also have the best pastries and fast service every time. Have not had one bad experience after coming here for years.
They make the best mochas.
Okay lovely looking pastries. Wife had the big Sur tuna sandwich and was very pleased, sandwich looked awesome. I had the pastrami sandwich. Bread was delicious but the amount of meat was very disappointing skimpy to say the least and for a "French" bakery to not use dejon mustard what can I say. The flavor was good but could have been so much more. Definitely not on the level put into the tuna sandwich. Will go back for pastries though.
I have the feeling this place used to be better. The pastries are good but way too expensive. They now sell tortas ?? Selling tortas at a French Bakery ?? Stay focused, people !!
I have the breads and pastries regularly and they're fresh and delicious. I haven't tried the sandwiches yet.
This local place is great. Food and service is always amazing and food is always very fresh. I recommend their pies. You can’t go wrong ever with a slice of pie and vanilla ice cream.
Everything is fresh and just made. Things I haven't seen in ages.
Quiche was delicious. They have good breakfast desserts and coffee
Best pastry. Great bread. Helpful, very nice. Owner Lady is Beautiful!
Generic, uninspired coffee place that used to provide great service. The only thing French about the place is the fake French mural on the wall. What made us give 1 star instead of the original 3 and a half was an incident with the bread. We asked for sourdough bread, and on getting home discovered that it was stale and NOT sourdough. So we trudged along to return it and they insisted it was sourdough (without even looking at it) and that it was fresh (how about you give it a whiff). After being customers for 4 years on holidays in Cambria, bad customer service and a decline in the quality of coffee (and baked goods) made us avoid this tourist trap. Try Cambria Coffee company up the street, with its interesting coffees (Yemeni coffee - yes that's a thing) or other coffees and baked goods from around the world. Or any other coffee shops in Cambria with an ounce of integrity and a passion for making something of worth.
Great pastries, delicious mocha and teas.
The cinnamon twist and the chai lattes are tasty, also the sour dough.
Great ham and cheese croissant, as well as the feta and cheese one. Flaky. The quiche Lorraine was flavorful too.
I got a Chi Latte and some Russian Wedding cookies. Both were very good.
Aaron at this Bakery is great, so was the ladywho helped us, very polite. They have an exquisite selection of treats. Bread, cakes, croissants, cookies, coffee and tea. I had a slice of artichoke and sun dried tomato pizza that wasso good, The place has small tables inside and outside. Should you go to Cambria, this is one stop you should not miss. Sea ya next year!
Everything is good but my favorite is the Dante, pure heaven 😇
My hubby and I stopped by before our trip back home . He tried the Chocolate Eclair, I took a bite & it was so good. I had the carrot cake slice was good, I never had it with ginger before. But it was Great stop for a cheat day. The Pan Dulce "Concha" was good, brought home a box of russian cake cookies and a few wheat and regular croissant. All very very good. Next time I will try the sandwich menu.
The ham and cheese croissant was so savory and with the 'bigger-than-my-face' bearclaw, I was in heaven.
Enjoyed the baked goods. I had the chocolate croissant. It was amazing. The coffee hot & strong. Friendly Staff. Very Clean. Sat outside to take in the Town of Cambria.
Delicious pastries and coffee, friendly service.
OMG this lovely little corner nourished my soul each morning with their wonderful selection of pastries and coffee.
Really good cappucino and pastries in a cozy setting.
The pastries are ok but not really french. The Creme Patissiere is more like a Bavarian creme and the strawberry Napoleon has whipped cream inside! They really shouldn't call themselves french, thats deceiving.
Owner must have been having a rough day. The cashier was friendly and attentive.
Sorry but I think I may have had a bad experience. The croissants were dense and felt like eating a blob of dough. The cappuccino shot was ok but there was only foam and it wasn't frothed correctly. The claw my companion had was ok and almost a saving grace. We were on vacation so we ignored it and went to one of the other coffee shops. Surprised there are so many 5 stars...
The ham and cheese croissant was delicious! Adorable little town. Saw three deer crossing the road. Regulars and staff seemed friendly. Cute French bistro tables and a full tea/coffee station.
Espresso= nice & strongVanilla latte= great tastingBig Sur Tuna w/avocado sandwich= great ingredients, lacked some flavor but the bread was so good.Hot Pastrami sandwich= tastyPeanut butter cookie= tasted plainWhite chocolate macaroon= scrumptiousBlueberry coffee cake= it was dry and did not seem freshThese are opinions from 3 of my family members including myself. We wanted to try a lil bit of savory and sweet of Cambria 😉
Love this place. Always stop here on trips up the coast. Delicious baked goods at reasonable prices. Their coffee is also quite good. For me this is a destination spot.
Coffee and pastries we bought tasted fresh and delicious. Fast and friendly service we got at this place.
The food here is fresh and delicious - my favorite is the turkey with cranberry sauce - and the staff is great! I’m a regular when I work in Cambria!
I go to the French Corner bakery for all my pies and cakes....all occasions. Perfect mini size cakes so everyone can have their favorite. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Very decent little hole in the wall. Full bodied coffee. The best lemon cakeI have ever encountered. Always a pleasant surprise to find these little gems. Tee Jay you should revisit. I heard not a single foreign word.
We showed up later in the day and they still had 1 full case of seriously delicious looking cakes, eclairs, pies and cookies. I got the wedding cookies (best ever, and I've tried a lot of these, they are one of my favorite). The macaroons are out-of-this-world delicious. Even th ok ugh they are drenched in chocolate, they still have that toasted carmelized crust on the top and bottom...yummmm! I also picked up a slice of the carrot cake, which I have yet to try. Had a white mocha that was fair. Liked that they offer whipped cream.
An excellent selection of fresh baked rolls (Bolillos), sweet rolls, cakes and breads. The fruit toppings are delicious. The bakery reminds me of our honeymoon in Acapulco. Rich expresso and brewed coffee drinks and teas are offered. Sandwiches are made with their fresh bread. Their take on a bagel is a bit different. It is solid and chewy with a thick crust, nothing like a New York bagel. The staff is friendly. This is a local hangout. Limited seating, inside and out. Parking is free and easy. Wheelchair accessible.
Coffee is great Pastries are delicious Good service
Best bakery with delicious single service cakes and deserts. Full display of bear claws and other delightful and tasty treats.
Lovely selection of cakes and pastries. They made our wedding cake a few years ago which was a hit with all the guests. We come back each year for our anniversary for a sweet treat 🍰
Awful.Ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. It was not ready until an hour later.Nothing special at all.
I love this bakery. It is my mandatory for me to visit the French Corner Bakery and indulge myself with a fine pastry every time we visit Cambria.
Very tasty. The croissant was very flaky, and the lemon tart was sublime. If you are low on cash, the check out the table of day-old goods. I scored a loaf of sourdough and it was great. Inside and outside seating is available. Nice place to try.
